Minifee Clothing at Dorset!

Hi all! How are we today?
I've had a lot of demand for minifee clothing from customers, and having a Sharmin she's a bit too small to make anything other than loose tops that will also fit MNF. So with the help of my lovely friends, one from Peppermint Circus, I've been able to borrow some MNF and Narae girls to make a limited range of clothing!

More will be available in the next few weeks - like lingerie - but here's some of the items available now:

To see more check out the Slim MSD section at my store. A lot of these items are one offs, or limited to small runs, so once they're gone, that's it!

Dorset now on Etsy!

Wow, it's been awhile hasn't it? I've been really busy the last couple of months - moving house, travelling for pleasure and work, and quitting my job! Yes, Dorset is back to being a full time gig for me, which is very exciting.

As the title suggests, Dorset now has a store on Etsy: http://www.etsy.com/shop/dorsetclothing
I'm constantly adding new items, so keep checking back.

I've borrowed some Minifees and a Narae from some kind friends so I'm working on a limited batch of clothing in those sizes. I'm open to any suggestions people have for clothes they're looking for in those sizes, so let me know if you're looking for anything in particular.

I'll also be at the Melbourne Doll Market in Sept 3, so if you're in Melbourne then, come and say hi! The past two markets were great, and I always have for sale exclusive items which are snapped up quickly, like this gown which was sold at the last market:

So that's me for the past few months. And as I say every time, hopefully it won't be so long between updates next time!

Dorset Photography Contest

To continue with the anniversary events, another competition! Don't forget entries for the design contest close in just over a week's time.

Dorset Photography Contest

This is a special contest open only to those who have bought items from me, as a thankyou for all their support over the years.

For this competition, entrants need to take a photograph of a doll wearing at least one item of clothing made by Dorset. Consider yourselves the photographers and stylists of a Dorset fashion shoot. The photo doesn't have to show the whole garment, but there does need to be a fair amount of the garment as part of the focus of the shot, and not just the doll.

You can enter as many times as you want, however you can only win once. Each entry must be from a different shoot. Compiled shots are not accepted, pick your best shot.

The winners will receive the following prizes:

1st prize: $100 Dorset gift voucher

2nd prize: $50 Dorset gift voucher

3rd prize: $25 Dorset gift voucher

Entries close Friday March 19th

Things to note/Disclaimers
- It will take me a couple of months to make the finished products, as I will need to source materials.
- In some cases I may change elements if I am unable to source something appropriate (i.e- tiny buckles are hard to find and expensive when you do find them)
- I am away in Russia during Feb, so I may be slow to acknowledge that I have received your entry.

Keep an eye out for more events in the coming months! :D

Long time between updates

I always forget to update this page, which is partly the reason for this update.

This journal was made for people to be able to keep track of their commissions progress, but as I am no longer taking commmissions I won't be using it so much.

I have decided to focus on ready made items only - primarily bjd clothing, but the odd lolita piece will slip in there too I'm sure. As I feel bad cross posting things everywhere, I'll only be posting updates at my personal journal - kawaii_mon, or my Deviant Art. Feel free to add me to either if you'd like to keep up with what I'm making.

My bjd items are being constantly updated, at least once a week if not more. The sales thread for anyone interested is here.

And to make this post a bit more interesting visually, here's some of the items I've been making for the past six months.

Thank you to everyone who has commissioned me over the past few years, I've really appreciated your support. :)

It's been awhile..

Wow, it's been a long time since I updated this journal! Changes in work, a wedding and other things have forced me to change the way I work. I have a few more commissions I'm finishing up over the next couple of months, and then I'm taking a break from commissions while I decide upon a new plan of attack. I will most likely be doing more ready made pieces to sell, and only take on one or two commissions a month at most. I just don't like waiting lists - even though people are okay with waiting, it makes me feel bad that they are!

So firstly, for all the bjd owners on my flist, I have been making some casual items in a range of sizes, from Super Gem to Zaoll to YoSD sizes. My DoA thread is here.

For everyone else, this is what I've been up to for the past year. Amongst working on commissions I got married, and I had a moment of crazy and made my wedding dress, my husband's coat and shirt, and my bridesmaid's outfit. Under the cut are some pics, as well as finished commissions. :)

My husband's wedding coat, made from silk brocade and cotton velvet.

And that's it. I'm planning on posting more often (definitely more often than once a year!), so be sure to look out for items I have up for sale! :D
